SCRUFF - Gay Dating & Chat App Reviews

Like another reviewer said, you have to take this app (and any date/hookup app) with a generous dose of skepticism. These apps are set up to keep you coming back for two reasons 1) more eyes on the advertising (which pays Scruffs bills) and 2) collect info on you (no surprise there since thats what all apps do). These apps are usually a huge waste of time and provide little payoff to the user (and Scruff does not have reliable message delivery). Youre better off meeting a guy through old-school analog ways than this app. Take it for what it is- a little diversion. But have realistic expectations of its limitations.

I subscribed a long time to Pro... But half the time my pro benefits were completely ignored -- id get messages likes "you need pro to do that." Then when I upgraded they changed what " Pro" meant and took my money but offered me intentionally Fewer benefits requiring a higher level of pro for more money for the basics.... The No pro app version is embarrassingly user unfriendly and deceptive .... Hate this app and their sleazy business practices

Have been a long time subscriber to this app and have seen no usable improvements to speak of, only raises in subscription rates. This app is getting too expensive for what it is offering. Sorry you lost another subscriber due to rate hikes.

I have used this app for over a year and have met some awesome guys both near and far, I love the ice breaker woof function and the would you meet.

It has lots of hot guys, but they always seem to be too far away.

I use this app and another similar app. Scruff is much more reliable than the other one, which is full of bugs and quirks and service interruptions. I often have problems sending messages on the other app I use - it tends to have "message failed" situations on a regular basis. Not with Scruff! The only feature the other app offers that I wish were available on Scruff is the ability to save commonly used phrases so you dont have to type the same thing time & again to different guys. Otherwise, Scruff beats the other app hands-down!

Ive had great success with Scruff and have met a lot of great guys. I Highly recommend!

Love it. Even when switching phones due to breaking another one everything is saved by my log in...way better than Grindr

Is the a gay social app or an app for hookups? The same shallow people from the other apps are here too.

I dont pay for just blocking annoying people. I hope you understand. After 1,000 blocking? It must be unlimited and I feel I dont wanna post my real face here on this Scruff app.

I really love the match feature. I also like saying hi and interacting with global folks. Virtually no bots unlike its competing apps.

I do like this app. But Im not going pro because thats too expensive for my taste. But its a good app!

Unless youre 14 and just wasting everyones time, Grinder is a thing of the past. Granted not everyone that uses this app is what I would classify as the "scruff" user, however, still much better than other apps. ***I do have a ScruffPro membership, definitely worth it***

This app has always been the better app out of Grindr and Jackd in my opinion. Never really had an issue with force closing or and of that nonsense. Its easy to use and has some nice features. Overall I love it and will recommend it

Blows Grindr out of the water! Very stable, rarely has outages. Great search features, but that piece could be more intuitive. Once u figure it out, works fine!
